IAP2024 is coming!

The 35th International Congress of the IAP in beautiful Cancun Mexico, is taking place October 27th-31st and is promising to be an exciting and very worthwhile event for pathologists and trainees worldwide.  Composed of Short Courses, Symposia, Companion Meetings and Long Courses, the Congress encompasses all aspects of the multidisciplinary field of pathology. In addition, IAP 2024 will be held with the partnership and participation of 14 international and national societies, allowing for a diverse experience of expertise and knowledge.

We are pleased to welcome you to the 2024 XXXV Congress of the International Academy of Pathology which hosts the most enthusiastic and scholars of the field of Pathology.  Our aim is to offer a unique arena where the latest accomplishments and controversies in diagnostic pathology are presented and discussed.  The Congress returns to Ibero-America after 14 years and it will allow us to share experiences and knowledge in addition to returning to face-to-face congresses after 4 years of COVID 19 pandemic. Important topics of molecular pathology, artificial intelligence will be discussed in different subspecialties.

We are confident that the City of Cancun and its Convention Center shall be suitable to accomplish these goals. Altogether, the comfort and quality of the hotels and Cancun’s beautiful beaches and Mayan treasures make this the finest place to relax and sightsee; added to the traditional Mexican hospitality and an interesting social program will allow attendees and companions a memorable academic and cultural experience. Scientific Program

The five-day International Congress Scientific Program is filled Short Courses, Symposia, Companion Meetings and Long Courses spanning all pathology disciplinary fields.  All 188 sessions are are accessible through a single registration fee.

Bursaries are available

to help pay for registration, travel and accommodation

This is a tremendous opportunity to learn from leading pathologists from around the world. With this in mind, bursaries are available to trainees and pathologists from underserved countries. If you qualify, and and have not yet applied, submit your abstract to the Congress by June 5th.  Submitting an abstract is a prerequisite to apply for a bursary here. The bursary application deadline is June 12th

Here are some of the many places to visit while  you are here.

Zona Hotelera: The Hotel Zone is lined with beautiful beaches, upscale resorts, and exciting nightlife. Relax on the white sand beaches, try your hand at water sports, or explore the many shops and restaurants.

Chichen Itza: One of the most famous Mayan archaeological sites in the world, visitors can journey back in time to the explore the magnificent pyramid of Kukulkan, the Great Ball Court, and the Temple of Warriors.

Isla Mujeres: Take a ferry to this lovely island known for its sandy beaches, relaxed atmosphere, and stunning underwater world. Snorkel in the crystal-clear waters and visit the Mayan temple ruins at Punta Sur.

Cenotes:  These natural swimming holes formed by the collapse of limestone bedrock can be found by the thousands throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. Take a dip in a cenote, snorkel in the crystal-clear waters or explore the underwater caves.

Xcaret: Immerse yourself in Mexican culture and nature at Xcaret, a sprawling eco-park. Swim in underground rivers, explore ancient Mayan ruins and watch live performances.
