Meet our new Treasurer

Eyas M. Hattab, MD, MBA, is the AJ Miller endowed Professor and Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at University of Louisville. Dr. Hattab is an internationally recognized neuropathologist and a frequent invited speaker with expertise in the study of brain cancer and the characterization of its morphologic, immunohistological, and molecular features. His clinical practice also includes ophthalmic pathology, transplant pathology, and immunohistochemistry. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to many books. 

Dr. Hattab is a passionate educator and the recipient of multiple teaching awards with a long track record of promoting pathology training. He serves on many national and international professional societies governing the field of pathology, including being the Vice President for Professional Affairs, American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP), Chair of the Finance Committee of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and Vice Chair for Graduate Medical Education, Association of Pathology Chairs (APC). Dr. Hattab’s contributions to the IAP and its regional divisions are many and include serving as a speaker, panelist, and moderator with dozens of presentations to his credit. 

Dr. Hattab obtained his medical education from Jordan University of Science and Technology before embarking on a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (University of Florida, Jacksonville). He pursued subspecialty fellowships in Neuropathology (Stanford University, CA) and Oncological Surgical Pathology (Ackerman Laboratory of Surgical Pathology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University). In addition, Dr. Hattab holds an Executive Business of Medicine MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. 

Dr. Hattab is an avid runner and cyclist and enjoys international travel and fine dining.
